I believed in marathon, not 100m dash, says Anil Kapoor

Anil Kapoor revealed he would constantly feel that he is "not good enough" and it was this "insecurity" that pushed him to work harder.
Anil Kapoor said he always strived for "longevity" as an actor in films and never wanted to become an instant star. The actor said he realised early on that he needs to work on his fitness to be able to maintain the stamina to play diverse roles. "I believed in marathon. I was never for a 100m dash. That be a big star in five-six years and get faded away. I've been in this business for 38 years now. The reason is I was consistent, committed, worked hard and I was never delusional about myself. I worked with good directors. I listened more than I would talk.
"I worked towards my physicality because I need that strength and stamina to portray all the characters. In trying to maintain the energy to be in front of the camera, I started looking after myself," Anil said. The actor was speaking at a session 'Masterclass with Mr India', moderated by his daughter, producer Rhea Kapoor at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
The actor said he would constantly feel that he is "not good enough" and it was this "insecurity" that pushed him to work harder. "Everybody felt I'm an actor but I don't have the looks. There were Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol, Dharmendra, Mithun (Chakraborty), all great looking guys. They felt he acts well, but doesn't have looks. And now somehow everything is changing. "There's a shelf-life in sports and in films but you should try your best to increase it as much as you can. That you can do by keeping yourself fit - mentally, physically, spiritually..." he said.
Anil said after a certain age actors must re-evaluate themselves and try to find out roles that suit them. "I can't play a 20-year-old guy. You have to be sensible enough to do roles and you have to think of roles which will suit me when I'm 40. Life goes on. You have to reinvent and rethink yourself. And there are still so many other roles that I can still do."

US President Donald Trump will have a trilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in Buenos Aires on November 30 and December 1, the White House said.
The trilateral, which would be an expansion of the bilateral between Trump and Abe, is part of the series of meetings Trump would have later this week on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit in Argentina. The annual meeting is being attended by leaders of the top 20 economies of the world.
However, all eyes are expected to be on two meetings that Trump would have with the Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
Briefing reporters ahead of the G-20 Summit, US National Security Advisor John Bolton said that Trump will also have meetings with President Mauricio Macri of Argentina, President Moon Jae-In of South Korea, and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey.
Bolton said the Trump-Abe bilateral meeting would expand into a trilateral meeting with Prime Minister Modi.
"He is going to meet with President Macri, the host government of Argentina, he'll meet with President Moon of South Korea, he'll meet with President Erdogan of Turkey, Prime Minister Abe of Japan, that will transform at some point during that meeting a trilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi," Bolton said.
"The president will meet with President Putin and have a working dinner with President Xi," he said.

PM Modi in Telangana: 'Congress, TRS two sides of same coin'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi kick-started his campaign for Telangana Assembly elections by taking on both the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Congress on Tuesday. Addressing a rally in Nizamabad, PM Modi described TRS and Congress as 'two sides of the same coin', and said that both were engaged in vote bank politics.
The BJP is contesting all the 119 Assembly seats in Telangana on its own.
PM Modi Telangana rallies: Highlights
Nizamabad Rally:
#  We believe in 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'. We do not believe in vote-bank politics.
Congress as well as TRS, both the parties believe in dynastic politics. They are two sides of same coin. Both the parties appease the minority, both the parties believe in vote-bank politics, none of them have internal democracy.
# People should teach a lesson to the TRS government in Telangana.
Chief Minister of the state feels too insecure and refused to connect the state with the scheme of Ayushman Bharat.
# In past 3 months, 3 lakh families took the benefit of Ayushman Bharat but none of them is from Telangana. The state government is responsible for this.
# Telangana was formed after several years of struggles and sacrifices of youth. State government doesn’t have the right to destroy that sacrifice.
# Telangana CM said he will turn Nizamabad into city like London but the place lacks basic facilities like water, roads and power.
# There are elections in five states and wherever I have had the opportunity to visit, the enthusiasm of people is immense. I thank the people for their faith in the BJP's development agenda.
Those who believe in development, building new India and new Telangana trust BJP most.
#Telangana chief minister and his family think they can rule without doing any work like the Congress did for years.
